Shakaib Mahmood - Deputy Chief Executive Officer
Shakaib is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and has a Bachelor’s degrees in Law and Commerce.
He has more than two and half decades of experience of providing assurance and advisory services in Sultanate of Oman.
Prior to joining the Company, he was a Director at an International Audit and Advisory firm in Oman. His responsibilities included, apart from providing Assurance & Advisory services to Banking and Insurance sector, Risk Management and Quality control of the firm. He also acted as Head of Islamic Finance for a couple of years with an International firm in Oman.
Aneesh Varghese - Head of Operations
He is a Chartered Insurer, Associate of Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII)- UK , MBA in Insurance and Banking, Mechanical Engineering (Dip), possesses an overall experience of more than two decades, predominantly in Underwriting, Claims, Product Development, Reinsurance, and Actuarial Analysis. Wide experience in different markets across the region including India , Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Oman. His Experience including but not limited to underwriting of large & complex construction, erection and operational risks, Energy Risks, Marine Insurance, Casualty, Aviation Insurance, Financial Lines, Life and Medical Insurance.
He is a veteran in Takaful Industry with operational experience in various department of Takaful Industry and an expert in handling mega, complex and unique claims. His Strong correlation with regional and global reinsurers bring global reinsurance experience and protection to local Insurance market.
His ceaseless focus on nurturing enduring relationships with business partners has augmented our business relationship endeavours. He is a conscientious and result-oriented leader which has been validated by his proven track record in delivering sustainable outcomes to all the stakeholders of the organization.
Ipe Issac - Head of Underwriting
Issac is an Associate of Insurance Institute of India (AIII). He has over two decades of experience in various capacities including Underwriting, Reinsurance, Claims and Product Development in both multi-national and regional companies. His GCC based experience encompasses working for insurance companies in Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Oman.
He specializes in handling huge infrastructure projects (both operational and construction), marine, casualty, motor fleets, employee benefits and personal lines of business portfolios.
Suresh Subramanian - Head of Claims
Suresh has completed Post Graduation in Public Administration, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering and Post Diploma in Automobile Engineering. He is pursuing ACII program from Insurance Institute of India.
He has more than 23 years of experience in insurance and automobiles sectors. He has worked with leading automobile company and worked in a multinational insurance company in India prior to his assignment in Oman.
He specializes in strategising and implementing effective motor claims, non motor claims management initiatives, supply chain management, detailed motor, non motor claims experience analysis and business reporting. He was instrumental in implementing key dealer tie-ups and managed various dealer accounts.
Wafaa Al Riyami - Head of Compliance
Wafaa AL Riyami works as Head of Compliance. She has more than 12 years’ experience in Compliance, Internal & Shari’ah Audit.
Wafaa has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Mazoon University College, in addition to a certificate of Introduction to Insurance, which contains the following subjects (Introduction to Insurance, Motor Insurance, Fire and Loss of Profits Insurance, and Miscellaneous Insurance) through Bahrain Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (BIBF).
Muamen Ali Ibrahim - Head of Legal
Muamen has a bachelor’s degree in Law. He has more than two decades of experience in managing the legal functions and requirements of insurance sector. He is also an approved arbitrator as authorised by Omani Courts.
Ziyana Al Mudhaffar - Manager Corporate Communications
She is the Corporate Communications Manager and currently leading the corporate reputation at Al Madina Takaful.
Ziyana Al Mudaffar has over 24 years of diverse professional experience and shines as an outstanding figure in the world of corporate communication. With a Master’s degree in Project Management and a Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Zeyana’s journey is a testament to her relentless pursuit of excellence in her field.
She has demonstrated her expertise and versatility in various areas, including tourism, media, marketing, and investment, reflecting a rich tapestry of experiences that have enhanced her adaptability to the new and her broad expertise.
Ziyana, who has contributed nearly a decade of devoted service at Al Madina Takful has been instrumental in the design of the company’s annual report, social media, website, advertising and press releases, She has also been nominated as a Board Director of The Oman Switzerland Friendship Association.
Hitesh Popat - Head of Finance
Hitesh is an accomplished professional with over 16 years of experience, with a demonstrated history of leadership, extensive knowledge in finance, audit, and Insurance sector. He holds a key role in overseeing the finance function and is well versed with Islamic accounting concepts and financial reporting standards. His expertise extends to wealth management and crafting investment strategies for the Company. He has a proven track record of developing and maintaining robust professional relationships through effective engagement with various stakeholders.
Prior to joining Al Madina, he played a pivotal role in international Audit and Advisory firms leading several audits, internal control, and advisory engagements for clients across diverse sectors.
He is a qualified Certified Public Accountant (CPA) accredited by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, USA. Complementing this, he holds a dual specialization in Accounting & Finance through a BSBA degree. Moreover, he has earned recognition from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, with an advanced diploma in management accounting.
